A Mariner’s Tale: a wooden, sail-and-motor powered schooner Kirk & Sweeney was one of the most famous cargo vessels of the day (it was 1920 rolling by…), which was requisitioned by the US Coast Guard as the preemptive measure for its industrial smuggling of rum from The Dominican Republic to New York – in the dawn of the prohibition era…

The memorable design of the bottle pays tribute to the rum bottles of old, which (when empty) were sealed with tar and were used as the buoys for the fishing nets… The glass has silk screen print of an old map, showing the main sea route for smuggling rum from The Caribbean to The USA, whilst the brown paper “ticket”, tied to the bottle’s neck, ironically symbolizes the warrant of the seized contraband

The Rudder of Taste: a brightly sweetish start with a pleasant load-up of toasted caramel. The body is impressively serious, with nuances of tobacco and a touch of peppery-nuttiness. The finish is wonderfully long, elevated by the velvet of peaches and some marzipan chocolate
