More happy days for the lovers of SERIOUS non-alco beer: the ever-excellent GAFFEL has lived up to its promise. And GAFFEL being GAFFEL, it has taken this project as always: responsibly, smartly and passionately.

Whilst not going into the intricacies of the complex process of making this exemplary beer, we will just say that here the alcohol is extracted very gently, slowly and patiently. Therefore, the beer retains (almost) all of GAFFEL’s “patent” taste qualities. One more fascinating detail: the beer loses over 40% of its calorie content during the process!

Kölsch is truly an important and special kind of light beer: in brewing it, the TOP fermentation is used, whilst the maturation is that of a lager (bottom). Kölsch can only ever be brewed in the city of Köln (Cologne) and the environs, having the EU protected geographical denomination.

And the family-owned GAFFEL brewery is easily one of the most respected kölsch makers in the world

As the demand for non-alco beer is growing exponentially all over the world, the excellent people at the family brewery DE HALVE MAAN (Bruges, Belgium) are not falling behind with the supply. Born in 2019, the JESTER SPORTSMAN is the new, young brother of the notorious BRUGSE ZOT: double fermentation (with the second one inside the bottle!), fantastic hoppyness, viscous and rich texture...

In a blind tasting, 10 out of 10 members of our team didn’t even hint at this being a non-alco beer… That’s how real and honest it is, with A LOT of taste and aroma. Traditionally Belgian and unconventionally nonalcoholic beer – this one alus be gėdos.
